Job Requirements

• American Boards or Canadian FRCPC
• A minimum of ten years post-specialty certification experience in Family Medicine in North America, and
• A minimum of three years of experience as Head of Family Medicine department

Department Information

The aim of the Department of Family Medicine is to provide accessible, high quality, cost-effective and personalized interdisciplinary health care.

The scope of comprehensive services includes chronic and acute illness care, preventive health maintenance, health promotion and wellness, education and counselling, and specialty consultation and referral.
 
Categories of Patients Attending Family Medicine:

• Employees
• Eligible Dependents
• Cash patients
• Royal Order patients
• Medical Insurance
• Credit patients (ARAMCO, Saudi Airlines, Insurance Companies)

The majority of patients are hospital employees and dependents. The department runs an appointment system to enable adequate time to be scheduled for each patient. As well, an urgent care/ walk-in service for those patients who require to be seen urgently. (In a serious emergency situation patients will be seen in the Emergency Department). The Department see over 30,000 patients per year.
