As an integral part of the management team, this individual will lead the KFSHRC’s efforts to create a state-of-the-art Program for effectively managing labor resources based on operational improvement initiatives and comparative benchmarking. The goal is to assist each area to identify improvement opportunities (both from initial review of processes and practices) and through an analysis of differences in similar peer Systems - and promote and encourage changes in practices which will result in using labor more effectively.
This individual will oversee the installation of internal labor reporting and the design of exceptions based constructive engagement of “coaching” in order to improve compliance with existing budgets. In addition, the individual will be responsible for developing and conducting projects which will improve the utilization of labor and in the projecting of labor needs for upcoming major System expansion plans. Through comparative benchmarking and networking, this individual will also lead efforts to question why processes are currently done, assist in harvesting better practices from nationally recognized sources (example Premier’s Performance Improvement Portal) and in the overseeing of the implementation of these best practices – all designed to more effectively utilize labor resources.
This department and the individuals hired will be coaches that will assist both the directors and executives in improving processes, eliminating waste and duplication in services and better meeting the needs of the patients and their families by improving the provision of care and services.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Management Engineering or related field with at least 5-7 years experience in process design or engineering required.
- Masters degree and background in healthcare consulting or analysis is strongly desired.
- Preferred knowledge of comparative reporting and labor management, particularly large operational databases such as Premier’s Operations Advisor database.
- Must be highly analytical and possess a strong grasp of both quantitative and qualitative data necessary in finding creative solutions to difficult and complex problems, many of which are abstract in nature.
- Must be proficient in management principles, practices and methods and their limits in a healthcare setting.
- Must possess an in-depth working knowledge of decision support systems, spreadsheet database and other software tools.
- Must have strong oral and written presentations skills and be able to make effective oral presentations and prepare concise written reports to a variety of audiences, including Boards.
- Must be able to communicate complex concepts in simple form for non-finance users to understand the appropriate use and limits of the information provided them.
- Must be capable of independent thinking in terms of considering potential arenas for analysis or performance improvement and initiate projects around those areas without direction.
- Must be able to learn unfamiliar concepts quickly.
- Must have the ability to effectively manage a complex, dynamically changing schedule around the needs of customers and bring a process improvement mind set in providing exceptional customer service to KFSHRC clients.
- Must work effectively in a team environment and able a supportive contributor or leader in team matters. Must conduct himself professionally and be capable of developing and maintaining positive, service oriented relationships with all levels of healthcare professionals.
- Must be able to plan, coordinate and prioritize resources.
- Candidate with hands on Premier’s Operation Advisor implementation in large hospital setting will be given preference.
