The Department of Pediatrics provides children with medical treatment of a highly specialized nature, promotes medical research and education programs including post-graduate education training, and contributes to the prevention of diseases.
Its specialized and unique services include, but are not limited to, the treatment of congenital diseases, primary and acquired immune deficiency, end-stage renal and hepatic diseases, cystic fibrosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, bone marrow and solid organ transplantations, infections in the immune compromised child, insulin pump treatment for diabetic children, LDL epharesis for familial homozygote hyperlipidemia, advanced treatment modalities and therapeutic approaches for children with rheumatological diseases, outpatient therapy of cyclophosphamide infusion in the Day Medical Unit
