The Department of Medical Genetics at our client hospital is the first Genetic department to be established in Saudi Arabia. It consists of two sections namely: Clinical Metabolic (Biochemical Genetics) â responsible for inherited metabolic disorders; and Clinical Dysmorphology-responsible for congenital birth defects and dysmorphic syndromes. With the application of national program of neonatal screening and premarital screening, this is the only centre that can provide training of counselors to Ministry of Health and other governmental agencies in the Kingdom.
